The Bossi Nomad is a high-performance carbon wheelset developed for riders seeking greater versatility, tyre support, and confidence across mixed terrain without compromising speed or responsiveness. At the foundation of the Nomad is a purpose-built carbon rim using a refined T700-T800 layup, shaped around a 28mm hooked internal width and 35mm external profile. This broader platform is designed to better support modern high-volume tyres, improving sidewall stability, cornering confidence, and overall control at lower pressures. The hooked bead maintains excellent tyre retention and compatibility across a wide range of tubeless and clincher tyre options, while the tubeless-ready construction allows riders to take full advantage of improved comfort, traction, and puncture resistance. Reinforced nipple hole patching adds strength in a critical stress area, while a counterbalance ballast patch opposite the valve helps optimise rotational balance for a more refined ride feel.

The Nomad uses a 28 spoke, 1:1 lacing pattern front and rear, with cross 3 lacing on both drive and non-drive sides. Paired with Sapim CX-Ray spokes, this configuration delivers a well-judged balance of lateral stiffness, compliance, impact resilience, and serviceability. It is a build philosophy chosen not only for performance, but for consistency and longevity in real-world riding conditions where durability matters just as much as outright speed.

At the centre is a forged and heat-treated 7075-T6 alloy hubset with CNC-machined 7075-T6 axles, built around 36T ratchet internals for reliable engagement and long-term durability. TPI stainless steel bearings have been selected for their smooth rolling performance, corrosion resistance, and dependable lifespan in varied weather and terrain. Every detail has been chosen to ensure the Nomad performs not just when new, but after repeated exposure to dust, water, vibration, and long days in the saddle.

Each Nomad wheelset is fully hand-built in-house, allowing us to control spoke tension, true, dish, and overall build quality to a standard that machine-built wheels rarely achieve. The new forged 7075 hub body is light, stiff, and durable resulting in exceptional performance and stability. Bearing interfaces are precision machined to ensure perfect fit, improving performance and extending lifespan.

We use external nipples for easier maintenance and long-term serviceability. Alowing for for quick and precise truing without the need to remove tyres or rim tape, making it easier to keep your wheels running perfectly true. It’s a practical choice that prioritises performance and reliability.
